Reddit Promotion Playbook

Overview

This document captures lessons learned from promoting bj4.me on Reddit — what works, what gets you banned, and how to maximize results.

Results So Far

  • Duration: 9 days of daily posting
  • Sign-ups generated: ~1,100
  • Revenue (10 days): $130
  • Projected revenue (with renewals): ~$400 (25% recurring commission for 1 year)
  • Effective rate: ~$45 per post
  • Time investment: Minimal — mostly just posting, especially if you pin the referral link to your profile (otherwise your inbox gets flooded with DMs)

How NOT to Get Banned

Burned through 4–5 accounts so far. The ban reasons fall into four categories:

1. Post flagged as an ad

Some subreddits explicitly prohibit ads. If your post looks promotional, it gets removed and you risk a ban.

2. Post flagged as a deepfake

If the content appears to involve a real person, it violates both subreddit rules and Reddit's global policy on involuntary deepfakes.

3. Bot-like behavior

Using an account exclusively for posting promotional content — without any other activity — triggers Reddit's spam detection.

4. Ban evasion (permanent Reddit ban)

Posting in a subreddit you were previously banned from, using a different account. Reddit has a sophisticated detection algorithm that cross-references: same device, same WiFi/IP, similar posting patterns, timing, and more. This results in a permanent sitewide ban.

Rules to Follow

  • Always use AI-generated content and explicitly state in the post title that both the video and the starting frame are AI-generated. No ambiguity.
  • Never post in a sub you've been banned from using another account — unless you can guarantee zero connection between accounts (different device, different network, different patterns).
  • Only post in subreddits where ads are permitted. Check rules before posting.
  • Use your account normally — build real karma, engage in other subreddits. Don't use it solely for promotion.

Where to Post

Target subreddits where promotional/ad content is explicitly allowed:

r/RealisticAIPornYes48K
r/ARTificialNSFW/Yes140K

The Playbook (Step by Step)

  1. Pick a video. Generate one yourself, or select from the affiliate gallery.
  2. Upload to RedGIFs. This is the easiest way to share NSFW video as an embeddable link on Reddit.
  3. Create a post. Choose a subreddit from the list above. Write a title that clearly states the starting frame is AI-generated.
  4. Add your referral link. In subreddits where ads are allowed, drop it as a comment with a short teaser.
  5. Pin your referral link to your profile. This catches traffic from people who visit your profile after seeing any post — and saves you from DM overload.
  6. Repeat across multiple subreddits.

Key Takeaway

9 posts generated $130 in 9 days before a shadow ban. The strategy works — the main risk is account longevity. Using a real, established account with organic activity should significantly reduce ban risk.
